"Our people are good people; our people are kind people. Pray God some day kind people won't all be poor. Pray God some day a kid can eat. And the associations of owners knew that some day the praying would stop. And there's the end."

Reminder: Saturday frisbee in the new location (Nov. 17)

Jill's been called to Nebraska, so just a reminder that this Saturday's game at 3 p.m. is in our new location. The field is further west, past the Polo Grounds. If you don't see frisbee'ers immediately, keep looking; we'll be there somewhere.

Someone please forward this to Brian and Pepper and anyone else who plays but doesn't show up on the e-mail list.

Saturday game - location changed (Nov. 11)

Hello frisbee players,
I trust others are feeling as tired and unproductive as I'm feeling today with all the late-night returns watching last night.

Those who played last Saturday know that the park service has fenced off OUR field at the FDR Memorial and is reseeding the lawn. I called today and it will be fenced off until the spring. Last week, we played in the trees close to the polo fields with bad results (twisted ankles and other injuries due to the uneven ground and the trees).

The playing fields in between Independence and the polo fields are first come-first served and some soccer leagues use those fields for games. The Permit Office of the Park Service couldn't tell me much about who has the fields reserved and for how long.

Unless others have a better idea, let's just aim to try to play in that area this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. We'll go early and try to get some space.

If you show up and don't see us in the regular spot, please look around - maybe even across Independence closer to the Lincoln Memorial. We'll play anywhere we can find. Hope to see everyone there.

If you know of a free field in the general vicinity of the Mall, let me know.

Frisbee on a weeknight? (Aug. 16)

At the post-game social time on Saturday, several players suggested trying to play another ultimate game during the week. This game in no way replaces the Saturday game. Some of us are feeling the positive effects of the once-a-week exercise and want to try a second game during the week.

We suggested Wednesday night - 6 p.m. on the Mall. One volunteer would go early and try to save a spot in the near vicinity of the Smithsonian metro stop.

If Wednesday is a bad night for people - and will be every week - we are open to suggestions. Let me know if you'd rather play on Tues. or Thurs.

So, unless you get another email from me, consider Wed. night the new weekday game this week. Please send this message on to others you know who might not be able to play on Saturdays but can during the week.

See you soon.

June 17

Hi folks,
In case you have somehow forgotten, the lefty ultimate frisbee is on Saturday at 4:00.
We'll be at the FDR Memorial.

It looks like rain, but if it's still dry in the afternoon, we're on.

If anyone has a picture of Nick and Liz's new baby (born on Tuesday) bring it along!

In the beginning . . . (April 1)

Sadly, no record of the inaugural left-wing frisbee game e-mail survives, but we bet it was good, real good.
